Breath Band "Speaking of jazz..."

In 2011, Maxim Popichuk met two wonderful people and great jazz musicians: pianist  Victor Patychenko and double-bass player  Alexander Maximov. They were introduced to Maxim by his longtime friend and colleague Ivan Orosz, a virtuoso clarinetist, who has long worked with Maxim Popichuk in various musical groups and with whom he brought a lot of joy and gave a lot of positive emotions and feelings to the audiences during his performances around the world.

At that time, there came to Maxim an idea of creating a new, not quite ordinary, jazz ensemble for the performance of instrumental music in the style of classical and traditional jazz. Becoming not only  colleagues, but also quite close friends, all together, they began to create their first joint jazz concert program.

As the mastermind and leader of the band, Maxim Popichuk convinced his friends and colleagues not to get carried away and not to go to contemporary trends of today's jazz, but instead, concentrate on the performance of just the old, classical and traditional jazz music, which, in the Maxim`s belief, can still be a very nice and touching for a wide range of people throughout the world.

Calling his new band "Breath Band", Maxim displayed the essence of the instrument on which he plays: a pan-flute, and character of his band, the music that may be pleasing to listeners like a light and pleasant whiff, which is able to bring a lot of pleasure to those whom it touches, and the title of the concert program, "Speaking of jazz ...", speaks for itself, that is, displays the genre of their music.

A remarkable feature that makes this ensemble to stand out from many other similar bands of the genre - the ensemble of "Breath Band" intentionally uses no percussion instruments, as most of the musicians in the world cannot even imagine what they can do without them on stage. This, in the opinion of the ensemble, only further emphasizes and shows the high professional level of music and taste of each musician of the ensemble.
